Jessalea Shettle

Jessalea (Jessa) Shettle began her legal career working for a highly prestigious Plaintiff law firm in Pensacola, Florida, where she assisted in obtaining large verdicts for clients in two trials and handled medical malpractice claims. Her start in medical malpractice allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the medical side of bodily injury claims that she now uses to develop comprehensive defenses for her clients.

In 2017, Ms. Shettle transitioned to insurance defense work. Immediately prior to joining our firm, Ms. Shettle was the Managing Partner of the Key West Office of a large insurance defense firm. There, she litigated premise liability, negligent security, wrongful death, environmental, trucking and automobile accident cases. Ms. Shettle has a passion for legal writing and motion practice, which she has leveraged to win numerous summary judgments for her clients, including four in 2021.

Ms. Shettle received her Juris Doctorate Degree from The Florida State University College of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, she was an active member of the Mock Trial Team while helping to run a 501(c)(3) animal rescue as foster and community outreach coordinator. During this time, Ms. Shettle also interned at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation – Hotels and Restaurants Division, clerked at Pennington, P.A., and assisted in two criminal trials with The Sharpe Law firm.

Ms. Shettle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The Florida State University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2012. While in college, she was part of the Honors Program and received numerous scholarships and recognitions for her academic excellence.

Ms. Shettle was raised in the Panhandle of Florida and now resides in the Florida Keys with her husband and rescue animals where she helps cover claims across the great State of Florida. In her spare time, Ms. Shettle enjoys diving, kayaking, camping, volunteering, and spending time with her family and friends.
