Darren M. Caputo

Mr. Caputo focuses his practice on complex business litigation, real estate, business development/consultation, finance and banking, and labor law. Mr. Caputo as an experienced litigator has successfully prosecuted and defended over 150 bench and jury trials and has represented his clients in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Caputo has advised and represented businesses and individuals in business disputes, labor disputes, casualty disputes, property disputes, and financial institutions in a wide variety of matters.  As an underwriting title agent with Old Republic National Title Insurance Company and having represented a number of financial institutions in title insurance claims Mr. Caputo has extensive experience with complex title issues in both transactions and litigation. Mr. Caputo has extensive experience representing buyers and purchasers in contracting, financing and the development of residential and commercial properties, including high rise and mixed use developments.  As a consultant for a variety of growing and aspiring businesses, Mr. Caputo assists business owners in corporate formation, intellectual property, contracts, insurance, and various non-legally related business matters. Having successfully represented insureds and businesses as a trial lawyer and negotiator in personal injury, worker compensation and labor law cases he enjoys an excellent reputation in the legal community.

Mr. Caputo obtained his Master in Business Administrator (MBA) and Juris Doctorate (JD) from Stetson University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Finance and Banking and Risk Management and Insurance with a Certificate in Financial Planning from Appalachian State University.  Mr. Caputo competed nationally in the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants National Financial Planning Competition receiving 1st place and in the Ameriprise Financial National Planning Competition receiving 3rd place. Mr. Caputo is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina as well as in all federal courts in Florida, the Eastern and Middle District Federal Courts of Tennessee, and the Western and Central Federal District Courts of North Carolina.

In his spare time, Mr. Caputo is an avid outdoorsman and Eagle Scout. He is a former white water rafting guide and enjoys whitewater kayaking. Mr. Caputo enjoys giving back to the community through pro-bono legal work, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program and through Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp dedicated to enriching the lives of special needs and terminally ill children, volunteer work with the Chamber of Commerce – Leadership Chattanooga, and serving on the board of directors for the Tennessee Valley Canoe Club.
